Defense Sector Lead
Michael Herrington serves as Aretum’s Defense Sector Lead, bringing more than 25 years of experience driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and mission success across the Defense and National Security landscape.
Before joining Aretum, Michael was the Chief Executive Officer of Tsymmetry, where he guided global teams delivering solutions and services for National Security and Public Safety missions worldwide. Prior to that role, he served as Division Vice President and General Manager at Leidos, where he led nearly 1,000 professionals supporting Defense programs and managed full profit-and-loss responsibility for a business unit generating over $286 million in annual revenue.
Earlier in his career, Michael held senior leadership roles at Michael Baker International, overseeing IT engineering, airfield operations, and mission-critical services for the Department of Defense and international government partners. He also led international and foreign military sales operations for DynCorp, developing business and programs across the Middle East and North Africa.
Michael’s leadership is shaped by a strong foundation in finance, operations, and mission support. He holds a Master of Science in Taxation and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Louisiana State University, and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is also a Private Pilot and previously served in the U.S. Army and Louisiana Army National Guard.
In his role at Aretum, Michael focuses on expanding Defense sector capabilities, strengthening customer delivery, and guiding teams in support of national security missions.
